Guatemala...

Located in Central America, Guatemala is just south of Mexico....is our first destination.  Located in Central America just south of Mexico, Guatemala is a varied country featuring ocean coastlines, lakes and rivers, hot tropical jungles, and highland volcanoes.

Our stay in Guatemala is in Antigua, a beautiful colonial city at over 5,000 feet elevation and volcanoes on the horizon.  It is an international city with persons coming from all over the world to learn Spanish at one of its many language schools or simply to vacation.

 We arrive in Guatemala on June 8th and will move in with a Guatemalan family arranged by the language school.  We have requested a family with young children that Luke and Rachel may play with.  With the exception of one week travel and vacation in Belize, we will be in Guatemala until July 19th.  Four weeks will be spent in an immersion Spanish language school.  Each morning all four of us will go to school and be taught one-on-one.  The afternoons and weekends will allow for rest, play, study, travel, talk, and worship.

Don's mother, father, and brother will come to join us for one week of travel in Guatemala and a week of vacation in Belize at the beginning of July.
