Peru...

...is located on the Atlantic Ocean in South America.  It is a large and varied country, moving from coastlines to high Andes mountains to isolated Amazon Basin rain forests.

We will spend three weeks in Peru living with a Peruvian family and attending another Spanish language immersion school.  Our time will be spent in the mountain city of Cuzco.  Cuzco is at an altitude of 11,000 feet, more than two miles high, and surrounded by even taller mountains.  It is a small city in the heart of the ancient Incan empire.  Not far away from Cuzco's cobbled streets are the Sacred Valley and the magnificent, ancient city of Machu Picchu along the Inca Trail.  We hope to see these sites as well as Lake Titicaca on the Bolivean border on the weekends.
